What is Council

So what does the County Council do for you? County Council is a seven member board that is the legal fiscal body for that unit of governemnt and is responsible for managing the financial matters for the entire county of Owen including the County's annual budget, employment salaries, tax rates, services and other finances; as well as selecting appointments to certain government boards and commissions.    See Indiana Code IC 35-2  for more detailed information.
